What it measures

An altseason index measures the percentage of a selected altcoin basket that has outperformed Bitcoin over a defined period, commonly 90 days. A high reading suggests broad altcoin leadership. A low reading suggests Bitcoin leadership or weak altcoin participation.

Why Bitcoin matters

Bitcoin is the primary crypto benchmark. Comparing altcoins to Bitcoin helps separate absolute gains from relative strength. An altcoin can rise in dollar terms while still underperforming Bitcoin, which matters when studying rotation.

Why exclusions matter

Stablecoins, wrapped assets, pegged tokens, liquid staking tokens, and synthetic assets can distort the reading. A useful index should focus on liquid, investable crypto assets that actually express market risk and relative performance.

Eidara principle: do not use the index to chase hype. Use it to understand rotation.

How to use it

A rotation reading becomes more useful when paired with Bitcoin dominance, sector breadth, liquidity conditions, volatility, and market structure. It should help answer whether risk is concentrated, broadening, or fading.

Inside Eidara, Altseason Pulse is designed as market intelligence. It frames the current state of rotation so members can study conditions with more discipline.
